Welcome to Serve City Volleyball
With Wheaton and Carol Stream as our hub, Serve City is proud to be serving the western suburbs as the most family-friendly, fun and affordable volleyball club in the Chicago area for the fifth straight year! We combine the suburbs’ most inexpensive registration fees that fit the needs of working and middle-class families with a dedicated, caring and passionate training approach that helps youth athletes reach their highest potential on and off the court!
Serve City offers a range of club volleyball options for families to choose from:
National teams playing September to February and May to June for the most passionate and committed athletes
Regional teams competing September to February for athletes who need to cap their seasons earlier
Short season teams playing the Winter Season Jan. 4 to March 6 or a Spring Season March 8 to May 15 for shorter-term needs.
What is a National Team vs Regional Team?
At Serve City the only difference between a national team and a regional team is the length of the season. Our national teams practice and play from September to February and then May 3 through the Asics Jr. National Championships in Chicago (June 11-13 for 14U to 18U, June 14-15 for 12U and 13U). Our regional teams practice and play from September to February. Neither our national nor our regional teams play in any overnight tournaments. Our national team fees cost more than the regional team fees because the national season is longer.
Regional Teams
For the fifth year in a row, we are proud to offer one of the fastest-growing regional team programs in the suburbs. Our regional season is shorter than our national team season but still provides athletes with robust training and playing experience that takes their skills, knowledge and love for the game to a new level!
Regional season starts: week of Sept. 28, 2020
Regional season ends: Feb. 21, 2021
Regional season tryouts:
✶ Middle School - Sunday, Aug. 30 at the Central Athletic Complex in Wheaton
✶ High School - Sunday, Aug. 30 at the Central Athletic Complex in Wheaton
Practices per week: two 2-hour practices
Tournament dates: tentatively 6; to be determined
(all tournaments in Chicago area; no overnight events)
Power league: Chicago Volleyball League
Breaks: Dec. 20 to Jan. 3 (Christmas), March 29 to April 4 (spring break)
Regional player training fee: $990 plus miscellaneous fees
Regional player tournament fee: $30 per player per tournament once the state enables tournaments to take place
Other required fees:
$150 uniform package fee (paid upon acceptance — waived if you played for Serve City last season and still have a full uniform in good condition)
$40 volleyball fee (waived if you have one already)
$100 fundraiser buyout (or participate in raising a minimum of $100 through our fundraisers)
Financing and monthly payment plans are available. Extended plans are available at request.
National Teams
We are thrilled to start the third season of our national team program in 2020-2021. Our national teams feature a season of great training and tournaments along with the 2021 ASICS Jr. National Championships at Navy Pier June 11-13, where our teams will compete with clubs across the country.
National season starts: week of Sept. 14, 2020
National season ends: Feb. 7 (high school teams) and Feb. 21 (middle school teams), then restarts the week of May 3 and concludes at the Asics Jr. National Championships in Chicago June 11-13 (14U to 18U) and June 14-15 (12U and 13U)
National season tryouts:

REGULAR SEASON
Tryouts: None
If you played for us last year, you are automatically placed on a team if you want a spot via online registration (spots are available first come, first served).
If you played with us last year and want to move from a regional team to a national team, just let us know and your daughter may be asked to attend a tryout Sept. 1 to earn a spot.
If you played with us last year and want to move from a national team to a regional or a short season team, just let us know and you will automatically be placed on a regional or short season team via online registration as spots are available (first come, first served).
New families to SCV are asked to send us their daughter’s past VB experience and may be asked to attend a tryout Sept. 1.
Registration Deadline: Aug 31st, 2020
Season Starts: Sept. 8, 2020 (high school teams),
Sept. 28, 2020 (middle school teams)
Ends: Jan. 31, 2021 (high school teams, two weeks prior to the IHSA season), Feb. 21 (middle school teams)
Practices: 2x per week (36 total)
Tournaments: Presently not allowed by the governor, but the moment they are our teams will compete!
Travel/overnight tournaments: None
Intra-squad Scrimmages: We will set aside key time for scrimmages each week as we wait for tournament play to resume in IL.
Fees (to be determined but considering):
$990 + miscellaneous fees — this again will be the lowest full-season fee of any volleyball club in the Chicago area
$30 apparel package for practice tees, $15 JVA fee, $40 practice ball fee that is waived if you already have a volleyball
$30 per athlete per tournament day when tournaments resume
$150 uniform package once tournaments resume unless you played for SCV last year and your uniform is still in good condition (we will be featuring the same style and color uniforms that our teams wore in the 2019-20 season)
Mandatory participation in Raise Craze annual fundraiser (goal of each athlete raising at least $100 for fundraiser)
EXTENDED NATIONAL TEAM SEASON
Dates: tentatively May 1 to June 15 (middle school teams), May 8 to June 15 (high school teams)
Extended national season would tentatively end at the Asics Jr. National Championships at Navy Pier June 11-13 for 14U to 18U teams and June 14-15 for 13U and 12U
$250 extended national team season fee plus $30 per player per tournament day (5-7 total tournament days)
SHORT SEASONS
Length: 8-week seasons
Age levels: 12U to 14U (potentially 15U/16U as well)
Dates: TBD but tentatively would be:
Short Season #1: Sept. 14 to Nov. 7
Short Season #2: Nov. 9 to Jan. 23 (no practices Dec. 21 to Jan. 3)
Short Season #3: Jan. 25 to March 20
Short Season #4: March 22 to May 22 (no practices over spring break)
Practices: 2x per week
Fees: $150 per month ($300 total) plus $15 JVA fee
$30 per player per tournament day when tournaments are allowed (up to 3 tournaments per short season if available)
